Communion:
While we are unable to gather together for communion, we encourage you to take communion in your home. Remember, it's not the actual wafer and cup of juice served each week that makes the act of communion sacred, but it's doing it "In Remembrance of Me." Use items you have at home and gather together as a family around the table to remember the sacrifice Christ made for us.
Read I Corinthians 11:23-26
I know most of us have taken the Lord’s Supper many times in our life. Too many times to count probably, but have you ever thought about the statement that says when you take it, YOU PROCLAIM THE LORD’S DEATH UNTIL HE COMES. What exactly does that mean?
To put this very simply, when we take the bread that represents Jesus’ body and the juice that represents His blood, we are proclaiming the Gospel message. We are proclaiming first that we are redeemed, not by our good works or following a set of rules or even just being a part of a church, but only by God’s grace through our faith in Christ (Ephesians 2:8-9). We are praising Him for His perfect love shown by His death on the cross that covers every sin we’ve ever committed. Second, we are proclaiming to the world that Jesus loves them. They too can walk in this same forgiveness/grace and have an intimate relationship with Jesus if they will surrender everything and follow Him. And last, we are proclaiming that we will stand on the rock of Jesus Christ, the crucified and risen Son of God, until He comes again. “Oh, what a glorious day that will be when my Jesus I shall see” So, as you take the bread and juice today. Thank Him for his amazing sacrifice and love for you. Reflect on your life and lay every sin and struggle before Him. And then take time to PROCLAIM the wonderful name of Jesus as you worship Him with everything you are.
